We've heard from lots of families that use our service that their past experiences meeting Father Christmas have been too loud or chaotic for their child, with that in mind we've invited a special guest to our fayre...
Father Christmas is coming to our Fayre
We're making our Father Christmas Experience as 'autism and adhd friendly' as we can. Please bear in mind the needs of your child, this event still won't be for everyone as it's taking place in quite a busy hall, so subsequently has background noise etc and may be quite crowded at times.
We're so excited to be running our Christmas Fayre from Greshams in Ipswich this year. It's not far away now, Sunday 26th November from midday to 4PM.
We've got over 20 Craft & Gift Stalls, Homemade food, Tombolas, Raffle and Festive 'Autism / ADHD Friendly' Games (Prize every time & easy to win, yet fun and simple to play!)
We also have some of our own stalls which will be selling small sensory toys, Autism / ADHD themed gifts (mugs etc) and stocking fillers, as well as mince pies, sausage rolls etc all raising money for our Community Fund.
It costs £6 per person to meet Father Christmas, this includes a chat with him, a letter from him in the post a few days after your meeting, and the opportunity for parents / carers to take photos with Santa
(We can't provide the photo service unfortunately and there can be ^2 other adults in the room, you don't have to pay for those, just pay per person meeting father christmas and getting a present.)
It's important that if you'd like to meet Father Christmas that you book as the spaces are limited. We've kept the spaces limited so that our event can be as Autism Friendly as possible. We might not have any availability left on the day, please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment!
You don't have to have Autism / ADHD to meet Father Christmas. We're accommodating for those that do, so it means that it'll be a little less chaotic than usual santa meets!
It's not possible for us to accommodate everyone's needs, but we're doing our best to ensure that we're accommodating as many as we can. We've implemented a booking system with pre-selected presents so that if your son / daughter can't handle the surprise then they can know what they're getting, it also means they'll get something they like! Present wrapping is also optional.
Each time slot has allocated time either side of it to help us keep on time and to help deal with any breakdowns / problems throughout the day.
We cannot guarantee that this event will suit everyone, and please take into consideration the needs of your child when booking this event. The grotto is within a hall in which a fayre is taking place so though we're taking all of the precautions we can, there will still be lots of people around and a level of background noise. We're providing a quiet space and our team will be on hand to help you if you need it, but it is still a large fayre with lots of people. We'll also provide Social Scripts to help with any anxiety.
We can't wait to see you at our Fayre, please spread the word, forward this web page to your friends and share our event on Facebook. This event is crucial for our annual fundraising target that helps to keep our community fund and Saturday Clubs going.
If you have any questions, just email or call us between 09:00 & 15:00 monday to friday!
